'Strong Response' Mittwillan
"I will take responsibility for eradicating racist acts and for mutual respect and diversity."
Meatwillan said on its official website on the 20th, "A Korean crowd was subjected to racist acts," adding, "The club has decided to ban the two perpetrators from entering for a year."
According to the club, the racism incident occurred at home against Omonia (Cypriot) in the second leg of the UEFA Europa Conference League (UECL) third qualifying round for the 2023-2024 season at MCH Arena in Henning, Denmark, on the 18th.
Mitwillan announced that two local Danish spectators acted racistly to a Korean audience in the fan zone of MCH Arena at the time.
Mitwilan said, "I recognized the incident during the game and immediately contacted the victim and apologized instead," and explained, "The Korean victim, who felt unpleasant, received an apology from the Danish audience and the problem was solved through dialogue between the parties."
"The club continued to talk to the Korean victim afterwards," he said adding, "He expressed his intention that he did not want the problem to continue any longer. "I am satisfied with the handling of the problem that took place on the same day," he explained. 안전놀이터
But Mitwillan's response was strong. "After collecting additional data and conducting several meetings to get a full overview of the case, we decided that the case could not be dismissed as a matter between the parties," Mitwilan said.
"We decided to suspend two Danish spectators and explained the ban on entering the stadium through a meeting with the perpetrator," he stressed.
"Soccer has to bring people together," Mitwilan said. "It should not be the opposite," he said, referring to the value pursued by the club, and bowed his head, saying, "We will root out racist acts and do our joint responsibility for mutual respect and diversity."
