Natural pink sapphire
To satisfy the current demand for natural sapphire, heating mass quantities of corundum is the only solution. For that reason, the industry has accepted heat treatment. Heated sapphires come in all colors of the rainbow. This is just one of the many reasons why heat treatment is performed on most corundum. The color is stable, permanent, and throughout the gem, just as it would be in a natural stone. Color follows graining planes and natural color zones. Heating in a reducing atmosphere can brighten, saturate, and even out the color of a gem. An oxidizing atmosphere will help lighten the color. Natural pink sapphire
Unusual Properties
Pink Sapphire clears out emotional blockages, enhances self-reliance, and attracts all that is needed for spiritual evolution and growth. Pink Sapphire has been used as an aid in telepathy, clairvoyance and astral projection. Pink Sapphire reflects the toned-down, more feminine aspect of red color energy, bringing determination, commitment, and caring. Its soothing color calms feelings of anger or resentment, and can aid efforts to meditate and reflect. Pink is the color of new love, new romance and new relationships. It increases developing sensuality, and can help overcome heartache, aiding in the improvement of our caring and loving abilities.
Treatment
These gems are commonly treated with heat to preserve their natural beauty. Historians found evidence that Romans heated sapphires to increase color and clarity. Madagascar pink sapphires are heated at lower temperatures for less time than the process used for blue stones. Finding an untreated pink sapphire in its natural state is very rare and usually comes with lab certification to prove it.
