The Best Xbox One games 2021
Xbox One may not have the same exclusive selections as PlayStation 4 or Nintendo Switch. Believe it or not, now is the time to dive into the best games on Xbox One.
Since 2013, Xbox One has been creating a variety of great games. Especially in recent years, the barrier between PC games and Xbox One consoles has been lowered: which means a lot of exciting games have moved between the two. All are backwards compatible with the powerful new Xbox Series X.
The Xbox One has one of the best gaming subscriptions and provides you Xbox gift cards out there, Xbox Game Pass, which offers access to a circulating selection of titles for a small monthly fee, some of which are even available on this list.
What are the best Xbox games for 2021?
Trying to pick the best Xbox One game is a complicated process. However, there are some excellent games worth watching regardless, such as Doom Eternal and Gears 5 on the shooter front, while The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt has an exceptional RPG and Sekiro style from a third-person perspective.
Then there's Rockstar's Red Dead Redemption 2, and Forza Horizon 4 for fans of driving and racing games, which works great on the Xbox One X. But if you can't decide what to play, Xbox Game Pass offers a wide selection of games to play for a very affordable monthly subscription.
1. Gears 5
Gears 5 is the biggest and most beautiful entry yet in Microsoft's third-person shooter franchise, and one of the best Xbox One games to date. Focusing this time on Kait Diaz and her quest to understand her legacy of Locust, Gears 5's ambitious campaign blends with open-world vehicle exploration to complement the most satisfying and dynamic cover photography the series has ever seen.
2. Forza Horizon 4
Forza Horizon 4 is the pinnacle of Playground Games' beloved arcade racing series, unleashing players on a massive and incredibly realistic view of Britain full of fun things to do.
Horizon 4 offers a co-op multiplayer mode that fills your game world with real players and offers dynamic seasons, which means you'll have to tweak your racing tactics for summer, fall, winter, and spring as the seasons change each week.
Horizon 4 brings the open-world series and arcade game to Britain, as it explores some of the most beautiful places in England, Scotland and Wales. All the cars you'd expect are here, but the stations are perhaps the most interesting addition. As you can see, the huge map of the game completely changes with the time of year.
3. Red Dead Redemption 2
Red Dead Redemption 2 raises the bar for open-world action games and lets you take on the impressive dynamic of the Wild West where everything is interactive and your actions count.
Red Dead Redemption 2 is the type of game that only Rockstar, the team behind the GTA series, can make. Only when the studio is very successful can you invest millions of dollars and hours of development into a game.
Red Dead Redemption 2 is a unique experience, from the incredibly cinematic storytelling and stunning graphics (especially on Xbox One X) to the vast and diverse game world that lets you hunt, ride horses, and engage in epic fiery battles in the West. Experience the generation, and one of the best Xbox One games readily available.
4. Cuphead
Red Dead Redemption 2 is a unique experience, from the incredibly cinematic storytelling and stunning graphics (especially on Xbox One X) to the vast and diverse game world that allows you to hunt, ride horses and engage in epic fiery battles in the West. Experience the generation, and one of the best Xbox One games readily available.
Cuphead can make you want to toss your console at times, but going through every unforgiving encounter provides one of the greatest satisfactions you'll find in any action game. It's easily one of the best Xbox One games for people who can handle the challenge, not to mention one of the most glamorous of recent years.
5. Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice
Ready for a real challenge? Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice is the latest brutal RPG from developer Dark Souls From Software that forces you to fight warily across a legendary version of 16th century Japan filled with ferocious enemies out to kill you.
Sekiro has already been hailed as one of From Software's best (and hardest) games to date, as there is no real way to strive for better stats, only your skill will help you.
From Software's Samurai Adventure is a departure from that established formula, replacing slow, heavy combat and gothic desperation with stealth.
