WE HAVE BEEN PLAYING GUILD WARS 2 FOR 5 YEARS

For that reason, here is a poetic tribute to Guild Wars 2

GUILD WARS 2 - THE LEGEND OF PROXYDUS

(mother dragon`s voice rumbling) "Aaaarrrghhhh... it has been way too long since I have seen my gold in human hands... How dare you provoke me, mortals? You`ll pros-ternate in fear. Soon !!!!"

(story teller) "This ?... This is our story. The story of Dupro, a great leader. And also, the story of Xydusia, a wonderful Queen. Two young souls in love with each other, two great people that wrote our history... and gave the name we proudly have today... Proxydus. Because from duPRO and XYDUSia came our name.

Everything started before today`s dragons invasion. It was long, long, very long time ago... And here is the bard`s forgotten song about them."

The life around was harsh but good. And they were growing up together.

The hunters' tribe Areus brood knew very well to make it better.

A village small, with beasts to tame, was home for hunters brave.

For Dupro, and Xydusia, same, a place that one would crave.

Their parents stayed on simple needs and living off the land,

Would take upon the hunting leads to chase them `till the end.

In harmony with nature teachings and winters wild but yet divine,

They knew to spell their fathers' grievings and their existence was quite fine.

A simple life with bad deeds empty, no evil was to turn upon.

The kids would play in forests plenty and happiness were play and run.

Would care not much of strangers ways or ugly wars to come along.

No matter what the faith conveys, they would be sure to not be wrong.

One day was at faith`s discretion and tribe did face a bitter end.

A ruthless centaurs aggression pillaged their homes and took the land.

The young were killed along with old and village burnt with mercy not.

It was not hunting for the gold but human cruelty on spot.

Dupro was smart to hide in hay and told Xydusia not to fear.

The Royal guards took them away, right when they showed up next day near.

In Royal court, a man was raised, Dupro became a warrior strong,

In heavy battles deeply crazed and never handling swords in wrong.

With battle scar faced and revered, he showed a soul of brave and glory.

His name was often in crowds cheered and told upon in every story.

Xydusia, on the other hand, was raised by Queen herself in grace,

She soon forgot about her land and Royal ways had to embrace.

While painting canvas all day long and singing happy was so great,

She also was becoming strong on Kingdom matters and of state.

And dancing, riding, all the skills, were taught to her for many days,

She learned how to behave at meals and learned the politicians' ways.

But every time they could alone, Dupro was keen to see each other.

Xydusia met him in the dome, with strangers not around to bother.

And they were happy, they were tender, a feeling growing in them strong,

And not aware of either gender, they fell in love, it was not wrong.

But war was striking at the gates and duty called for Dupro skills,

He had to join his warrior mates and cast a lot of Piken kills. 

And posted was Dupro away, in Garrison of Northern Hills,

With battles going night and day and little time for decent meals.

The Queen kept young Xydusia in grace, adored for honesty and beauty,

She often told her to embrace the Royal deeds with solemn duty.

The Queen grew old and died one day, the Council thought it was a boon,

On golden throne about to stay, Xydusia was elected soon.

Ceremony announced for all to enter, with city all around to see,

And shiny knights displayed in center, to honor well the Queen to be. 

While fighting the invasion back, Dupro did learn a tale of story,

A shaman had mysterious track of magic sword from old times glory.

A sword that could the war to end, and golden city was at stake,

An ugly troll he was to bend if peace was Dupro set to make.

Warriors fallen on his side, a war so ugly lately grown,

That Dupro swore to take a ride and claim the magic sword his own.

He early woke and soldiers told he was inspecting all which stand,

But his lieutenants soon he called and gave them Garrison command.

He traveled worlds and faced the danger, he faced the fate that was ahead,

Dupro was not of battles stranger, he never slept in kings like bed.

On land and water, forests green, on mountains high and caves so deep,

Forgotten places he had seen were only a good pleasant trip. 

A shaman old and gray and blind that lived alone upon a knoll,

Told him that to save his kind it took to go and kill the troll.

And that he had to enter Portal, in Citadel the Black and guarded well,

A place not made for any mortal, were Charrs big tribe enjoyed to dwell.

So Dupro took a backward trip, to have Xydusia seen and tell,

Xydusia gave him royal ship, to go to Black, The Citadel.

And miles away, exhausted near, he did approach the Charrs own home,

An iron city, metal gear, and all around a huge old dome. 

The Charr commander gave him entry, and access to the darken Portal.

Dupro was passed beyond the sentry and entered vortex as a mortal.

What frightful view, would blow your mind, to see the Portal in its might,

The only way to save his kind and Dupro knew that he was right.

His soul was forged by ancient Gods, by Dwayna, Lyssa, and Kormir  

So he resisted all the odds and made his journey to Tarir.

And marveled he at wonders beauty and floating beings all around,

He soon could see a golden city and all green mountains to the ground.

A Neverwinter peace and glory and hymns of angels that would rise,

It`s hard to tell this pleasant story unless you see it with your eyes.

He crossed the gates and down the stairs, he reached the inner walls,

The angels seemed to be in pairs and guarding against trolls.

One thousand swords ripping his mind he felt as soon as he climbed up,

He jumped in abyss just in blind but realized he couldn`t drop.

So he could glide towards the shrine and see an ugly, muscled troll,

That drinking Balthazar`s old wine was waiting mortals for a toll.

And magic sword he had in hand, and eyes as red as one could think,

He laughed when seeing Dupro land and said in trollish "come and drink".

But Dupro knew his ropes too well and went ahead just to refuse 

And he could very easy tell that was a trick for troll to use.

They shouted words of moque and proud, and fierce was their heavy clench.

The ground was trembling so loud and you could smell the big troll`s stench.

At dawn, at last, brave Dupro slayed the ugly troll, now laid on moss.

And after that he humbly prayed to Gods that helped him stand his cross.

And now his own were sword and gold. And golden city to pretend.

Exaclty as that shaman told, the great war soon came to its end.

So Dupro took the city, gold, and ordered guardians to protect,

His captains soon he summon-called to show his pride and his respect.

And so he spoke of goods, no less. That times of joy are home, at last

He spoke of wisdom old and bless, that we could stay back now to rest.

He thanked us all for our deeds, for being brave, for being bold,

He would take care of all the needs, and fully compensate with gold.

And all was great and times with shine. And happynes would never fall.

We rushed to drink delicious wine. And gladly celebrated all.

For two full days with brothers Charr to dance we liked a lot.

And peace seemed great and troubles far. But what we knew or not.

We started soon to build and guard. The Halls of our guild, you know.

We worked so hard, from dawn to dusk and singing, shouting were not slow.

We used the tools, removed the dust and gold was bright on every spot.

We proudly laughed, we cleaned the rust, and no wood bridge allowed to rott.

We also did upgrades as told, we mined the caves for deeper loot

We also built a treasure vault, some place no one could set his foot.

We dug it all, with ego high and built our treasure hand in hand,

We never knew we could all die, unleashing dragons on the land.

With caves disturbed by tools and stuff, the dragons came alive again

And made our living very rough, with no more graines or wine to gain.

And Dupro went ahead to face, the mighty dragons with a mace.

They only showed him full disgrace and killed him fast just in that place.

Because while he could shoot them good, and dragons felt like flies on ground,

The mother dragon burnt all wood and cast her spells far, all around, 

And good old Gods, and holly priests, our Dupro soon began to fall,

Because the ugliest of the beasts gave full life back to dragons all.

And there he was, all blood and dead, the dragons proved to be too strong!

No laurels, gems or hero bed, to comfort him, to bring along.

Xydusia heard the news in crowd, in Reach Divinity`s old place,

And crying soon she started loud, for Dupro vanished with no trace.

And pain and anguish were so bad, to dream of Dupro being stiff,

She certainly became so mad, she threw herself off a high cliff.

By might and magic, dirty tricks, they made our hero yield to beasts.

And right now sadness on all lips, you here but swears and can see fists.  

With Dupro dead, Xydusia killed in pain, the city burnt by dragon snakes,

There is now nothing good to gain, but leave the city it`s what takes.

So now we run, we are so scared, faces in hands with shame and tiers.

For battle we are not prepared. Away we have to leave for years.

Our golden city will be lost. Forever hidden in the past.

The guild Hall and the treasures frost, the claws of dragon coming fast.

Our peace forgotten. Punished. Spoiled. Our fallen leader lost in shroud.

With mind in darkest veils and toiled, for that unluck we can`t be proud.

But even now when have to leave we deeply hide a great desire.

To soon come back, even with grief and conquer all the PATH OF FIRE.

"So here ends the bard`s old song. And this is how the story of Dupro and Xidusia went. We will always be in great debt to them. Because their are our ancestors. Because our guild`s name, PROXYDUS, was given by our beloved parents, named Dupro and Xydusia."
