I have seen this issue reported a number of times, but annoyingly none of them have reached the visibility it deserves. So I wanted to provide a comprehensive account of my experience with Fifa 17 between Sunday morning and now. What's even more frustrating is that, because it is only affecting a smaller number of players, EA seems unresponsive to this issue and have not put anything out on Social Media. Leaving a lot of players in the dark regarding when we will get to play FUT and have keen to fut 17 coins again.
I qualified for FUT Champions earlier in the week, but knew I would not really be able to play until Sunday as I was busy Friday and Saturday. I did find time Saturday to do a squad builder, which was the Sociedad-Bilbao one, from this I received Wijnaldum, who completed the Serie A - BPL Hybrid I planned on taking into the tournament.
On Sunday, I more or less had a free day, so was planning on slogging through as many Champions games as possible, so I set up my team and got started. Couple of times I got "there has been an error connecting to game session" but I persevered and was able to get a game. Oddly Wijnaldum wasn't starting but the MLS player I had in the slot prior to this was (This wouldn't normally be possible due to Chemistry restraints). I carried on anyway and got a 3-2 win, but I received no coins. This was annoying, but not the end of the world. After this, my record on FUT Champs starting fluctuating, between saying I had played 1 and 0. It then got to the point where I physically could not join games as it would kick me out prior to kick off, with 2 exceptions: One where 0.5 seconds after kick off I got booted out and got a DNF loss, the other I got a win, this fluctuated between registering on my Champs and Overall record and sometimes not showing at all.
I had similar issues with seasons, where it would take me many attempts to join a game due to the error. I managed to get 2 games in, with my record then shifting between 7pts and 13pts (13 being the accurate number after winning those 2 games). Eventually I had to give up on this too, as when it kicked me out of games, it would not save the squad I submitted for the game, which required me making 8-9 changes every time I wanted to even attempt this.
Moving onto squad builders. I am doing pack only - no real money. So I love the squad builder aspect of the game, as it provides more opportunities at the pack lottery. On top of this, I am trying to build a 2nd squad which is BPL, so the Liverpool - Man United one is perfect for it's premium BPL pack. The kicker is that my Wijnaldum card is integral to this as I don't have any other viable Liverpool players, this is fine and i'm happy to part with him. Unfortunately, the game does not appear to be registering that this card even exists; saying it cannot find him on the mobile app, that it does not exist when trying to quicksell (For Science) and it will boot me out of FUT when trying to submit the squad builder. Another aspect of the game broken for a section of players.
I have to also say that I have been in contact with EA customer support 4 times; 3 of which they tried to take me through the same troubleshooting steps I had already tried. The third one even said they would send me a comprehensive troubleshooting list after the chat had closed (Spoiler: They didn't, and only sent me an e-mail saying the case had been closed). The fourth was more interesting, as they actually showed some acknowledgement of the issue and said it was being worked on. Out of frustration at having missed out of FUT Champions I asked if players who have suffered this issue will be compensated, being aggrieved that I have missed out on some decent rewards due to the game being broken. He apologetically said no, to which I responded asking he thought that was a bit unfair, I was shot down with "no it's not". Brilliant. All attempts with EA customer support had been ultimately fruitless.
I guess the main reason I wanted to post this was because I have seen players reporting these issues in some capacity over Sunday on an individual basis (matchmaking, squad building, etc). As someone who has struggled with the game being unplayable the last 36 hours or so, I wanted to provide a comprehensive account of these issues, which will then hopefully gain some visibility as to how broken the game has been for some of us lately.
