Diary of a site admin
The trial premium phase has ended and a few things have changed. One, we have ads now. As far as I can see, they're limited to a new widget in the site layout, and my AdBlock extension eats them whole. Two, the site's design is a little broken right now, because the custom CSS that I entered to modify the style is no longer active. I think that I can enter exactly the same modifications through other (official) means, though, and then we'll have the same layout as before. Three, we are limited to 10 MB instead of 10 GB in our File Library now, but we can source out most of our images to other image hosting companies, and have already done so before.
Today, somebody started texting me in game while we were on a dungeon run (in case you're reading this: Hi!) and said that he found our site on the internet. I wouldn't have expected that people get ahold of it that fast, but I enjoy it. This site is going to improve and develop more and more activity. Possibly because we got our fourth guild member from the game into the boat now, too: after Lethe, Fruchia and me, Jack Vengeance has joined us here, a new character of a long-time guild member, his now retired Enutrof has been with the guild... I have finally found a provider which satisfies what I want to have in a guild website. After trying out numerous other guild hosting sites and creating a few proof-of-concept guild portals on them, GuildLaunch finally offers all the things that I am looking for.
I have spent the last hours configuring this site: changing the theme and layout, adding a Wakfu header image, uploading graphics, creating forums and subforums, adding emoticons, adding and configuring Widgets, and so on. This is far from finished, but now I am adding another thing which might be of interest to me only: My own blog which circles around my duties as administrator of this site. Here I will give news about how the site is developing, in case anybody is interested in that, but intended to be more of a log. What I am planning to concentrate on next is the Wiki here, which is more of a hack, but hopefully it should serve us well. Maybe I need to make Wiki edits available only to a special group to prevent data loss due to human error.
