Enjin
Enjin hosting is shutting down April 30th. I had wished Gamer Launch would take it over. Anyways, it is always sad to see any hosting service end.
Basically, this is what was said from the owner.
As technology advanced, it became clear that without a major rewrite, it would be impossible to modernize the Enjin Website Builder. This rewrite would have forced website owners to, effectively, restart their entire website on the new framework. Whilst that improved framework would bring many benefits, it was also a step away from our main audience: those who just wanted to quickly, easily, and cheaply set up a website.
In general, the guild age is dieing.
Ah that's sad to hear. I did look into using them many years ago, but decided against it in the end, primarily because, even then, I felt that their sites were a bit clunky and old fashioned. I seem to recall that, at the time, I also looked into their customer support and it wasn't great.
There are other alternatives out there .. some have been built from the ground up over the last few years.
I don't know how well Gamer Launch are doing .. I'm assuming okay, because they're still here, but I do get the "treading water" feeling sometimes. I suppose these days a lot of guilds don't even bother with websites, they just go straight for discord - I know that my guild members are a lot more active on discord than they ever were with the website. The main time the website gets used is for new applicants and for admin - static information for people and to help me run the guild.
