Guild News Feed

So I am trying to set up my guild site, and I'm hitting a bit of a snag. I made a news post in the forum, in the news section. I configured the widget to display from that forum. The post is not showing in the feed.

I noticed that if i click "Add News" any post i make form there has the "announcement" icon, does that have something to do with it?

As an addendum, I copied my news post over into the "Add News" and redid it, and that seems to have worked. I was wondering if there was a way to add the "announcement" flag but it seems easy enough to work around.

It's a little bit sneaky .. you have to "expand" the options at the bottom before you submit a new forum news post :-)

So before you hit submit, just under that and to the left is a little bit of text saying "+ Show Options" .. click on that and you get options on what sort of post you're making ... simply select Post Topic as "Announcement".

Having said that .. I simply tend to do what you've discovered .. scroll to the bottom of your home page and click on the "add news" button .. it doesn't take any longer than going to the forums, then to the news forums, then clicking the new post button :-)
