Raid Tracking - WoW

Patch 8.2 has just arrived in WoW and, two weeks after that launched, the new raid, Eternal Palace will be released - will the various widgets and addon be ready for it?

I've got it prepped up. I should have it out Monday/Tuesday next week. It looks like all the bosses are quite straight forward, no need for yell tracking or anything like that it seems. Hopefully it all works first try haha.

I'll try to do some testing myself, but I stopped keeping my character up to date after Uldir, so it'll be a bit difficult. Maybe I can find a decent Normal PuG or something.

Obviously we're in different regions .. however, I'm in a discord channel called Fail Train (which is actually the smaller relative to the US one) that often has people organise relaxed, less stressful pug groups .. I'm assuming the US one does something similar - might be worth checking out.

By the way .. speaking of which .. does GL have a discord channel?  Might in theory be a good way of engaging people in a more modern way ...

Sorry .. I tried all ways of posting a link to The Fail Train US .. but just couldn't work out a way past the filter.

Okay I hadn't noticed before .. but it appears either I've done something wrong, or there's something wrong with the download/upload of the new version of the addon .. I tried installing it .. both using the minion installer and manually, and it just doesn't work.  It looks like it's not actually got all the files in the right places?  ie .. it installs it automatically without the enclosing folder, so all the files are spread through the addon folder.  I tried to create the folder and stick it all in there, but that didn't work either ...

So what I did in the end, was install a previous version of it, then downloaded the zip of the new one, and replaced/placed the files from the new zipped one into the same folder as the old one.  At least it is showing now .. it will probably have to wait until next week for testing though.

I see what is happening.

How it was before:
I compress the folder. When you unzip that folder, the folder that was extracted would be GuildLaunchCT_RaidTracker with a folder inside that is the actual addon folder with the same name GuildLaunchCT_RaidTracker.

Folder structure after extract: GuildLaunchCT_RaidTracker->GuildLaunchCT_RaidTracker->Addon Files

How I did it this time:
I highlighted the contents of the actual addon folder and compressed that into a folder. When you'd extract that folder, it would be the actual addon folder that would go into your addons folder for WoW.

I am going to reverse this and go back to how it was before because it seems your installer handles it and the way I've done it now causes more issues than solves. Sorry about that!

Normally when I do a manual extract .. I'd see a folder (ie, GuildLaunchCT_RaidTracker) with all the addon files inside .. so those would be inside the zip folder .. however, when I opened the zip folder this time, it was just all the files.  I'm guessing, based on what the extractor did, that it found the same thing.  So yes .. how you did it previously seemed to work ;-)

Just FYI .. we did the first 6 bosses tonight and the addon worked great, mostly .. but failed to pick up Queen's Court as a kill .. registered it instead as "Trash Mob".  I'll check once I get in-game again tomorrow to see if I can pick any death cries up.  I do know we apparently only just squeaked a kill before the timer ran out (they're supposed to be killed within 15 second of each other) .. that perhaps confounded something ...

As far as I can tell .. this is the death yell:

Queen Azshara yells: You show such heart! Preparations are nearly complete. I await your arrival below.
 
I checked .. and the kill doesn't show on the addon either.

Interestingly, the "guild news" on the WoW guild interface doesn't show many of the boss kills .. but then Blizzard have shown very little interest in guilds recently, so we shouldn't be surprised.

haha no worries .. we did boss 7 tonight and that tracked fine.

Okay we did another raid tonight.  Killed 7 bosses.  It didn't track Queen's Court again.  I thought perhaps I'd just forgotten to update - but using the Minion downloader/installer from wowinterface, I went to install it .. only to find it the same version.  Although it does say version 8.2.0 in-game.

Is the Minion downloader no longer working?
