WHY must I have a Paypal Account?

Why are we required to create a PayPal account to pay by credit card?  Has it occurred to anyone that there are people who want to give you their money but do not want to create an account in PayPal, Facebook or any other data sucking outfit?

 Hi, you are not required to create a PayPal account. You can checkout as a guest. This means you can complete your payments first, and then decide whether to save their information in a PayPal account for future purchases.

Hello GL_Support

Paymentwall refused to process my Captal One card and also refused to process my bank check card.  Both I've used to make online purchases many many times before.  The payment wall screen shows the three methods, I select the card option, fill it all in, then click make payment.  Then everything under the three options at the top goes white, nothing showing it's still figuring things out, and there seems to be absolutely no information as to why you guys don't want my money.

Any real and true fix to this?
