I was just wondering if there was a way to pull announcements from the Officers' Forum discussion board to a widget that only Officers can see. I have two news widgets set up, one for "member" news and one for "officer" news. Member news pulls announcements from the "News" forum, and Officer news pulls from the "Officer" forum.
However, even though the officer forum is locked so that only officers can view it, it appears that members can still view the post titles in the news widget. If they click on it, it gives them access denied, so it's not a super huge deal, however, there may be some instances where members should not even see the title of the officers' announcement.
Does that make sense? I guess what I'm asking is is there a way to set viewing permissions for particular widgets (an option in addition to "Anyone" "Site members only" "Non site members only", like Officers or Moderators only or something).
Thanks in advance for your help!
There isn't currently something to do what you're describing - I definitely understand the logic behind what you're trying to do and why users might want that, it's just not how that particular widget is currently configured.
The Latest Forum Posts widget does some of that (it only shows forum posts to users based on those users' permissions on the site), but it would *only* show topic titles and not the content of the message.
