RSS Fails after Security Certificate Renewal
When the security certificate for our site expired our RSS feed stopped working fully.
Then when the certificate was renewed it had several issues.
I e-mailed support but I haven't received any response, after waiting a week.
I asked a fellow web developer for help and they're telling me the server for our site, drms.guildlaunch.com, is no longer configured properly for the full chain of intermediate certificates.
Error:
"ExternalHTTPSConnectionPool(
Submitting the RSS feed in the feed validator of https://validator.w3.org/feed states:
https://validator.w3.org/feed/docs/error/HttpsProtocolError.html
Message
Error when fetching content over HTTPs
Explanation
An error occured when trying to verify the certificate of the HTTPs server - most likely, the server is not configured with the full chain of intermediate certificates.
Solution
An SSL verification tool may help identify the specific issue.
Do you have any ideas on how to correct this issue?
We've been using a feed reader for about two years, I contacted them, and they reported the same issue with our site now failing the triple handshake.
There is a new error when trying post new topics to our forum, after the Certificate change:
"Failed to load content css: https://drms.guildlaunch.com/includes/css/tiny_mce_forum.css?1000"
This happens whenever we try to post a new news update.
After pressing submit, this error occurs:
500 Internal Server Error
Update:
The post did go through after going back to our homepage. However, the multiple errors are concerning.
I've not been able to replicate this in testing. Is this still happening for you? It's possible it was a coincidence that that URL failed to load while we're paying attention to this type of error, but was temporary.
If this is still happening for you today, any more description about the steps you take before the error happens should help. Is it only announcements in news? Any type of post anywhere on your forum? What browser are you using and do you have any extensions like ad blockers that might be causing an issue?
Thanks for the report!
I'm sorry for the delayed message, the error and warning is no longer happening.
I believe it was temporary. It occurred when I was trying to post on the news forum, via the site's homepage, after clicking the "add news" link. The browser is Google Chrome.
However, everything is working fine now. Thank you for investigating.
Everything is working normally again :D.
