Applications showing level 120
Hiya
I've just noticed that people when they apply to the guild with a max level character, it is showing them at level 120 .. is that something I need to adjust in settings, or you? :P
That's a good question. I had not even considered that when they rescaled back to level 60.
I put in a test app to your site. I put level 60 in the level question. Does it still say level 60 once you see this application on your end? That would be funny if people are still thinking about level 120 and typing that in haha.
I guess the real question then is, if you apply with a real character name that is on your server, is our system automatically finding that character, getting their image and all that? I would expect our blizz API query to get the real level that Blizz gives us which should be 60.
Hmm .. there must be something else going on then. Yes .. your application shows level 60. And I've had several since in the last day or so, that also show level 60 for max level characters.
However, we had two ..
One https://www.darkwolves.eu/forums/viewtopic.php?t=12094617&gid=180473 showing level 120, for one that is 60 on the Armories,
One https://www.darkwolves.eu/forums/viewtopic.php?t=12094635&gid=180473 showing level 70, for one that is 60 on the Armories --- which is REALLY weird.
I don't see any way that those applications would get a number for the level other than the user typing in the level. So if they put 120, it'll say 120 on the application. Adding the character to the guild roster and getting that from the blizzard API should definitely show level 60 if their character ingame is 60.
Ah .. so it doesn't pull that information from the Armories on the application then? That's just what they've manually added?
That makes sense then. Not that, for some reason, they'd randomly choose to type in those levels, but why it shows something there that is incorrect. I have no idea why some people just find it so difficult to put in correct information.
I had a very long conversation back n forth with one applicant, because we couldn't find his character on the Armories, and he was insisting it was right. I even retyped the name he'd given, to him, to get him to double check the spelling, and he said it was right. I spent ages on it trying to work out why we couldn't find him. Eventually asked him to find it himself on the armories, and link. And yes .. he'd given the wrong spelling. Over and over again. It's like .. "come on guys, for the love of everything, just put in the right info ..." Apparently it is so much easier to just put some random old rubbish in, because no-one is ever going to check, right? /sigh
