iclans site

I just made a webpage on Iclans Web builder. For several hours when I typed in my web address it took me right to it. Now... I keep getting re-directed to gamer launch. Are these the same people? If so..Gamer launch web building tools is trash. That's why I went to Iclans website builder. But anyways... Why am I all of a sudden being directed to an error page on gamer launch. I even saved my Iclan site in favorites... Brings me to gamer launch.

I'm not aware of any link between the two.  I'm assuming, based on your personal assessment of Gamerlaunch, that you're currently or previously a user here too, with a website, etc.  Is it the same name?  Perhaps it's a caching issue?  Or were/are you using a domain name that perhaps needs the settings changing?  If you've changed the settings .. they sometimes take a day or so to "take" (although in my experience tend to happen within a few hours).

I think you'd need to give a few more details in order to get more advice, for example the urls of the old site, the new site, and the domain you're using.

I think Poisonenvy is probably correct. It sounds like you had a domain that you are improperly redirecting to Gamer Launch? Poison is also correct that we would need to see the URL's involved to be able to trace anything out and tell you what is happening.

We have no affiliation with iClan. There's absolutely nothing we could do to make iClan redirect to us.

@Rothalack, can I adopt you?  I never get told that often that I'm right :p

www.tanksdeadworld.com   yes I did start building a site here before I realized the site building tools "lacked". Even if I go to Iclans page and click my site from its drop down menu it brings me to gamer launch.. Forgive me for being ignorant on these issues...sure its something simple. And thanks for both of your help!

You will need to go to your DNS and update where it redirects too. If you purchased the domain from godaddy, or any of the other hosts, you will want to go to your account there to change that setting. We have no control over those redirects.

I hope you get it sorted okay.  It does look like it's a domain issue as that url is now forwarding to a godaddy holding page.

After what you said about iclans, I did go and have a fiddle.  I enjoy mucking around with guild hosting websites to get ideas and see what they can do and, I have to say, iclans was one of the very few where I just gave up trying.  I found it VERY confusing and difficult to deal with, with a lot of pushing to upgrade everywhere. 

It didn't help that the very first thing that was confusing, was the actual set up/registration process, asking for a username, but then using that as your website name.  I've never come across that before on other similar sites.

I'm pretty sure there's loads of options there, especially for people who can code their own pages, but as far as "out of the box" and ease of use is concerned, I wasn't a fan.  I couldn't find much (or anything, really) specifically for game support (like Armories links for rosters, etc).

I suppose it just depends on what sort of site you want, and how clever you are .. and it didn't work for me under either of those headings :p
