We are about to push a quite large update to GamerLaunch. The biggest part to this update is massive SSL updates. This change is very far reaching and we wanted to let everyone know. If you notice anything acting oddly over the next day, please let us know. Things to look out for are images not loading, video embeds not working, external links to other websites, and interlinking on your sites. Everything should be fine, but since the update is so far reaching, we can never be 100% certain.
If you have HTML widgets or Forum posts with embedded images/videos and they stop working, just make sure that the URL's for them are updated from http:// to https://. That should fix those!
This update includes many other little fixes and optimizations to various other features as well. We will outline those soon!
Hi. I've just been speaking to a guildee who is a bit more knowledgeable than I regarding site security and SSL. I had assumed that, when you made this announcement, this was being rolled out to all of our sites, but since this happened (I'm assuming it happened, anyway) I've had problems remaining logged in. Generally if I stick with one site or the other (my darkwolves site or your support site) everything is fine and it remembers me .. but if I log into one, it logs me out of the other. Which, to me, suggests only your support site has the security, not our hosted sites?
Again, being a noob at this type of thing, I'd left it a while thinking it would sort itself out, and then I thought perhaps it was just down to my domain being pointed at the http url rather than https .. but I can see using my guildlaunch site url with https in front doesn't work.
What is the best/easiest/cheapest(!) way of getting my site secure? Do I need to find a way of getting it secured myself, or is this something you guys can do? Is it just a matter of changing where my domain name points, or is set up, or am I going to have to either ignore it or spend a fortune per year?
Would implementing this have any impact on my site?
