Is there a guide somewhere that shows how to use this feature and possibly has example pages that can be adopted or modified?

Almost all of the links on the left side are to custom pages created with that feature.

Some questions on making a page for the site:
The drop down box with page section. What is the function of this? Is it where the link for the new page will show up?

The page contents.
Can this be made in frontpage and the HTML just copied to this textbox?

The dropdown is for what type of navigation will be there. So more or less where it will show up.

The page contents could be made in Frontpage, then pasted in. Bear in mind that we use stylesheets heavily so you'll have to work that out.
