Site Help
Moral Support Help? lol
OK Need some help here.
Seems alot of our guildies dont seem to understand this whole Guild Launch Login Process.
I Dont think they understand that Once you create an account you gotta add your toons to the account.
Is there maybe a laymen sheet out there that would explain to someone that normally dont use a website how to login create an account and apply for the appropriate guild?
Ive tried my versions of it and its not working.
How is everyone else handling this? How do you explain it to your guildies. I cant even get them to use the profiler saying its too hard to install and they dont understand the whole upload process
. So guess I will have to pray for the armory feature soon on that?
Anyways looking for other Guild Admins thoughts on this and how they explain it to there guildies. or if the GL crew has a suggestion on this?
Thanks!

I'd love to hear people's feedback on this. As you know we are always improving this process because it is so vital to the guild sites.
I’ll try and give you some help, or at least tell you how we do things in our guild. We advertise on a few websites, just mainly pointing people to our website and give them the basic information. When they get to our site they create a new account and go through the applications process.
We then send a PM to them once we are notified that a new application is pending. The PM we send them lets them know that their application is being reviewed by the officers and asks that in the mean time, they post a quick hello in our public forums.
After the review process and when they are accepted, we send a second PM to them welcoming them to the guild and asking that they please download a couple add-ons that our guild uses, and also to register their character name in the roster. We let them know in the PM that this is something that we require during their two week probationary period.
So far we’ve had about a 96% success rate for new applicants adding their characters to the roster. We are also having more and more folks use the Guild Launch character profile tool.
This may be more then you want to do but I would recommend a standard form PM message that states your requirements for membership and one of them being that they please take a couple minutes and register they characters.
I hope this helps a little and if this is something that you already do, then I’m not sure what to say other then to keep on them and hopefully they will comply.

In regards to building the character roster from the armory, your prayers will be answered soon. I just finished coding the "claim character" portion on the roster. Michael is working on theh XML import from the Armory, so after it gets finished and tested we'll release it.
Upating character data from the armory is a bit further out. However, the roster portion from the armory by itself has a ton of advantages.

(like us all) and I cant seem to convert My How-to's into an everyday person's how-to do stuff. But i do think retrieving rosters from the armory will help out tremendously.
Good Work guys!
