Our Favorite Gamer Launch Sites Engage Their Communities in Style

We’ve written a lot of posts about the importance of a guild or game community website. And we’ve touched on what you should be looking for in a guild hosting platform and why WordPress isn’t the one you want to use.

But it’s one thing to talk about effective community websites, and another thing to see them in action. So we’ve compiled a few of our favorite Gamer Launch sites to show you how some of the most active guilds use our features. All of these sites have home pages that engage their community members and invite guests to learn more about their organization. And they look fantastic while they do it.

Dark Wolves

This WoW guild has just about every key feature somewhere on their home page: forums, raid progression, recruitment information, guild news, social feeds, and more. Plus a badass dark theme. Visit their full site here.

Dark Wolves

Ethereal Army

Clean and informative is key for this Elder Scrolls Online guild site. There’s lots of information about the guild on the home page, as well as specific recruitment openings and new forum posts. Click here for the full site.

Ethereal Army

The Grey Wardens

The calendar is front and center on this guild’s home page. They’ve also got their motto on display, guild information and news, and even a dedicated radio station for you to listen to. Check it out here.

The Grey Wardens

Phoenix Battalion

There’s not quite as much happening on this guild’s site as there is on some others in our collection, but sometimes less is more. From this home page, you can see the latest forum posts and recruitment openings, or you can donate to the guild. Click here to visit the full site.

Phoenix Battalion

The Lonely Mountain Band

There’s a wealth of information on this LOTRO guild home page. Forum posts and guild news are the center of attention, but there are also links to the guild application, external resources, a Lonely Mountain Band playlist, and a list of upcoming and ongoing events. Take it all in here.

Lonely Mountain Band

Sanctus Covenir

This is definitely one of the coolest-looking sites in our collection. Aside from a theme that’s totally on point, Sanctus Covenir has decorated their home page with raid progression graphics, recent awards, server status widgets, Mumble availability, and more. See this site in all its glory here.

There are so many awesome Gamer Launch sites that we could include on this list. But these in particular have made fantastic use of the various community tools we have available at Gamer Launch.  Keep an eye out for our next post, where we’ll break down how our favorite sites do what they do and what’s working so well for them.

In the meantime, visit these awesome community pages and find or browse the Gamer Launch site for some inspiration for your own.

  1. Would just like to comment as well, that our website (Dark Wolves) looks better “live” due to the foibles of screengrabbing that makes it look disconnected 🙂

But thank you for featuring us … we’re proud of the website, we regularly get comments from new applications about how it encouraged them to apply, and the actual creation and maintenance of sites hosted by GamerLaunch is so easy, with so many options … even for those of us who aren’t really that knowledgeable about actual website creation :p

    1. Yay! Thanks, Poisonenvy! And, yes the screen grabs did something weird. I can see if I can get a better grab!

      1. I’ve had a play myself, and I kinda understand why it’s done it. Of course when you view it “live” the foreground scrolls over the background, but on the screengrab it makes it look like the background is tiled, and I don’t think there is a way around that. Although it does seem to show some blank areas .. I’ve used something called Fireshot for Firefox which is VERY cool although still gives a similar, if slightly better, image.

    1. But of course! Thanks for being an awesome part of the Gamer Launch community!

      We appreciate our members 😀
