GuildPortal is shutting its doors, but Gamer Launch is taking in refugee guilds

Gamers who’ve logged into GuildPortal over the last few days got a nasty surprise. A short notice on the site’s homepage informed them that GuildPortal would be going offline permanently by the end of the month. Check out the notice below:

GuildPortal will be going offline (permanently) by the end of the month.

This is a pretty devastating blow to the gamers and guilds who spent time building their communities through the site since 2001. They’d already lived through one scare after GuildPortal forgot to renew its domain last month. But it looks like things are for real this time around. In the forums, users of the site offered to help in whatever way they could to keep GuildPortal up and running. There has been next to no response from staff on the site or on social media.

If your guild has been affected by the GuildPortal shutdown, Gamer Launch wants to help you out.

Gamer Launch is a modern guild hosting platform and gaming community CMS that features advanced styling, drag & drop editing, WYSIWYG text management, EQ2 Census support, an industry defining support team, and more.

We hate to see so many guilds displaced, so we’re offering a discount to guilds who switch to Gamer Launch.

Getting this discount is a breeze. Sign up for an account on Gamer Launch, pick your subscription model, then use the code GUILDPORTALPROMO at checkout for 3 free months of service.

We know it may not be the same at first, but sometimes change is a good thing. And Gamer Launch has a lot to offer. Head on over to the main site to get a comprehensive list of our features, and claim your discount code now!

Maybe soon you’ll be calling Gamer Launch home.

  1. You will not be disappointed.

I moved our guild when I saw the decline this past summer. The GL team has been responsive and wonderful in helping me recreate our site, and helping members manage logins.

I like that they are there, truly there. They accept bug reports, suggestions, pleas for help, even complaints (rare as those may be!), not only from me, an owner, but also my people.

I may not be eligible for the discount, but I am happy in our new home, even with the inevitable need for adjustment of thinking given the differences in the two sites.

Oh! And if you hate the V5 beta (like I do), you can use the still active and lovely V4.

    Good luck!

    1. Thanks, Smallcorners! We’re so glad you’re having a good experience here at Gamer Launch 🙂
